Christiansburg Town Council is expected to vote on a rezoning to allow 17 new residences on Melody Drive (off Radford Road) this evening.  They will also hold a Public Hearing on rezoning requests relative to Kensington Place.  Some residents in this area have already expressed concerns about impacts to traffic and school enrollment, and that perhaps some later phase will connect these separate projects with resulting higher traffic counts through neighborhoods.

This meeting begins tonight at 7:30 pm in Town Hall, 100 East Main St.

Wednesday night, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and VDOT will hold at meeting relative to the Cambria and Franklin Street intersection, where the 460-bypass exits.  That meeting will be held at the County Government Center on Roanoke Street from 4 until 6 pm, and is meant to provide information about potential options for modifying this intersection.

Relative to the rezonings, be sure to watch the videos of the Planning Commission meetings.  While one member "abstains" from projects his employer is directly involved in, he's very active as regards others being pushed forward by business competitors.

Close observers of these videos should watch for the winks, and can determine for themselves if this holds any significance.
