Be sure to read Sunday's
Roanoke Times editorial about council's foot dragging on bus service in Christiansburg.

What are your thoughts? Have you called each council member and the Mayor to let them know?
If council talks to a handful of people, this is generally how they cast their votes. This would disregard the comments from the 38% who already expressed their needs or wishes in the
bus survey sent to every Christiansburg household.
The survey represented feedback from 60% of all Christiansburg residents -- but a few phone calls now may determine the path taken. Council members opposed to this may simply reaffirm their own opinions if they only talk to their regular circle of friends, as is the norm.
Council just agreed to a "
moral obligation" that represents more than double what bus service would cost to help ensure an economic development initiative (business incubator) remains viable.
Movement of goods and services (including employers having access to the workforce) is a critical economic need. Having bus service that better spends existing allocations could also help the town as it enters into the
tourism arena, too.
Council should think of this as another moral obligation.
