The Christiansburg High School Photography Club was recognized by Town Council on June 2. The town had asked the students to produce photographs which could be used on its web site. The town's Human Resources manager stated the end product "far exceeded" expectations and presented a Resolution of Appreciation to club sponsor Dr. Kurt Grosshans and club members.
The club had been given five themes to focus on:
Photos that tell the story of “What does Christiansburg mean to me (as a citizen)?”
Photos that say “What do I LOVE about Christiansburg?”
Photos of landmarks, facilities, and business development, or other items of particular interest.
Photos of interesting people that exhibit “Small Town Living at its BEST.”
Photos which are likely to give a ‘historical’ perspective many years from now as Christiansburg continues to evolve and grow.
Students submitted almost 150 photographs and created a slideshow which was shown during the meeting and may be viewed here.
