These are important dates for you because
:

Organizers are expecting 150 5K race participants or more at the grand re-opening.  Each event date is expected to attract at least 200 classic or vintage car owners into the downtown area -- the combined activities are expected to dramatically increase attendance at the museum’s annual Heritage Festival.

Each event will bring many more visitors into the central business district than on a typical Saturday, and will include running, history, live music and auto enthusiasts and other festival attendees.

Downtown businesses normally open during these times and dates should expect a higher volume of business, which could impact purchasing or staff scheduling.

Downtown businesses normally open during these times and dates should  expect normal parking and traffic patterns along East and West Main Street and Franklin Street to be affected.

Businesses  not normally open during these times and dates have a great opportunity to expand hours of operation and participate!   What activity would be an easy way to engage with visitors and promote their business?  Special deals, sidewalk sales or a booth in the festival footprint, business open house, product demonstration?  These are just some basic ideas for downtown businesses to consider.   Open doors will expose downtown businesses to many new customers during each of these event dates. Sidewalk space must be reserved or may be allocated to other participants.

There are no event fees, and participation is open to any business or non-profit currently licensed within the Town of Christiansburg.  Booth and sidewalk space will be limited and assigned on a first-come, first serve basis.  Sidewalks in front of closed business addresses with the festival footprint and other open areas will be utilized.

Event parking will use all area lots and on-street spaces, including town and county facilities.

Event volunteers are encouraged to sign up, and join in the fun.
