The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) charged Montgomery County's Voter Registrar office with providing misleading information to area college students calling this an "intimidation" tactic.  Think, Christiansburg! blogged on the erroneous press release last month.

Are Christiansburg resident's ignorant and uncaring voters, or helpless?

For national or state elected officials, see database of voting records.

For locally elected officials and how they voted, see:

Act like you care about officials presuming voters are idiots.  Find out how local and state issues really impact your taxes, form your own opinions.  Be a poll volunteer to monitor the voting process and shorten the waiting lines, or work to get petitions signed or matters before voters through referendum!  Show that you care about your community, your government and your country -- and that you are nobody's fool.

Note we believe the Montgomery County Board of Elections has an outstanding and well intentioned staff.  It is not necessary for individuals or campaign staffs to harrass Mr. Wertz or his team.  With a complex federal tax code that frequently has different treatment provided by state tax codes -- and convoluted FAFSA and grant rules, plus many health insurance carriers dumping dependent children as soon as possible -- they were most likely correct in mentioning people needed to examine all these points when students register to vote.  Another clarification on that topic has now been made by the State of Virginia, so we are renewed by possible positive outcomes during times of heightened voter awareness (plus rhetoric or outright lies) that comes during presidential campaigns.
