Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding, no more falsehoods or derisions -- from "Aquarius / Let the Sunshine In" as released by the Fifth Dimension almost 40 years ago and later featured in "Forrest Gump" -- safe to assume anyone over the age of 15 has been exposed to these now sappy sentiments.
Slightly more than 40 years ago (1966), the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) was signed on July 4th by President Johnson, and has subsequently become known as the "Sunshine Law" supporting open government.
At the close of 2008, the Town of Blacksburg has unveiled a new web page dedicated to providing a clear explanation of this law. As pointed out by The Roanoke Times writer Tonia Moxley, it may also serve as a resource and positive example for other RV / NRV governments to emulate.
This is such important information the Christiansburg Town Council should direct that a link to it is specifically included in their own revamped website.
