According to the calendar, it's the last day of 2008. Whoosh! Another year zips by and we've run out of time to procrastinate. There are a few hours left -- just enough time to cram in a few more good things:
If you want to help shape the future of Christiansburg and are a town resident, be sure to complete the bus survey being conducted by the NRV Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Been thinking about how to do something good for the community? Look into supporting a new small business and recycle at the same time. Check out Valley Curbside Recycling to see when service might come to your Christiansburg neighborhood, or go to the county's drop off locations (the town has 3 locations, but their website doesn't say where).
Believe our hometown is special and its history should be preserved? Another blogger writes about how you can easily share a story at Preservation New River Valley.
Speaking of history, have you visited the Montgomery Museum on Pepper Street this year? They have a wonderful cookbook of local favorites available in their gift shop again, and the regional art center featured some very special exhibitions this past year.
There may not be enough time now to do everything you'd planned this year, but there is one more day to look into these cool Christiansburg happenings. And if you do put it off (again), resolve to get these activities on your "must-do" list for 2009.
