All Christiansburg residents know the new $18 million dollar aquatic center is nearly, almost, soon to open. Reynolds Architecture and Lionberger Construction have been involved in this project since the beginning (one can honestly say for this entire century).

Over in Radford, it was reported the city has a seven year old recreation building -- however it has been plagued with leaks. So the manufacturer of the roofing product, the general contractor and subcontractors who did the installation are studying a problem that shows up during "heavy" rains.

The general contractor is a common denominator in this equation. Hopefully, this problem will be not be. But if it were to become so, it might be less of an issue in Christiansburg since one facility is meant to be wet and the other is not. Then citizens can hope there are no "overhead" problems related to managing the $1.5 million estimated annual operating costs for Christiansburg's newest facility.
