The discrepancy between what was reported in the press and what was reported on the State Board of Elections for Montgomery County's Auburn Strand school board seat has been clarified.
This explains why Montgomery County was the very last to report election results in the state, and indicates more than one error occurred. It also clarifies that the incumbent was returned to office (after 2000 extra votes were removed from the equation).
Lots of grumbling about this office just got more fuel.
For all citizens of the county, especially those in this school district, MCPS will be hosting a Capital Project Planning Community Meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Auburn High School library to collect taxpayer input. This strand is "next on the list" once the new Eastern Montgomery Elementary and Prices Fork Elementary construction projects are completed.
