The Historic Cambria & Downtown Christiansburg Partnership is sponsoring a series of Christiansburg Town Council candidate forums.
On Saturday, April 5 at noon, residents will have an opportunity to meet council candidates at the historic Christiansburg Depot in Cambria. Candidates will be asked prepared questions and respond to questions from the audience.
Additional candidate forums will be held on these upcoming dates:
Thursday, April 10 - Town Hall @ 7 pm (League of Women Voters)
Saturday, April 19 - Christiansburg Depot in Cambria @ 2 pm
Sunday, April 27 - Coffee Depot, Downtown Christiansburg @ noon
On May 6, residents will choose three council members from a pool of six candidates: D. Michael Barber and Steve Huppert (incumbents), Samuel Bishop, B.O. Chafin, Henry Showalter and Jim Vanhoosier.
Town elections are held at the Christiansburg Armory, Depot and College Streets. This is a different polling place for most town voters than those for general elections.
Multiple candidate forum dates were established on various dates and times to provide citizens convenient opportunities to meet the candidates. The forums also provide candidates a forum for presenting their views to town voters.
All candidate forums are open to the public.
