For the last three town council meetings, an agenda has been provided at least three (3) business days in advance. A positive trend, indeed.
Town Council will meet Tuesday, Dec. 2nd @ 7:30 pm in the Town Hall. The first item is a Citizens Hearing and includes speakers addressing council relative to a denied sign ordinance. This will be followed by the Planning Commission's recommendations for changing ordinances, and Town Code, for advertising, allowances for bed and breakfast inns, and new provisions on parking facilities.
This will be followed by council taking action on the Planning Commission's recommendations and appointments to the town's Park & Recreation Advisory Commission. Council is then expected to respond to a denied sign permit and the establishment of an Aquatic Advisory Commission.
Curbside recycling has appeared on the agenda, which has not been discussed in council meetings since May's town election season.
Councilmen Brad Stipes and Jim VanHoozier will then present the Street Committee's report as regards regulating mopeds and/or slow moving vehicles within town limits; and discussion of crosswalk signs downtown. Under "Subdivisions," council will hear recommendations for property owned by Edward T. King, part of lots 40 and 41, located on Chrisman and Third streets; creation of lots 1 through 59 along Harkrader St for phase one of Kensington; a boundary line vacation for property owned by William C. Osborne on Montgomery Street; and a revised plat for 63 lots in Robin Hood Estates along Sherwood Drive.
Bills will then be reviewed and approved for payment, followed by the town manager's progress report. Council's next regularly scheduled meeting is set to be held on Dec. 16th.
