The Christiansburg Town Council will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 17 in the municipal building.
The agenda includes a Public Hearing for a 3.34 acre property located at the end of Industrial Drive. Last year, the Town Manager indicated all town owned lots had been subdivided, redivided and sold. Apparently one has come back onto the market, but details weren't provided in setting this hearing.
Citizen Hearings include a presentation by the town's Police Department on internet crimes against children.
The Planning Commission, which will have met earlier in the day, is expected to give its recommendation to council on a rezoning request relative to a boundary line adjustment for approximately 171 acres adjacent to Buffalo and Mud Pike Roads and another on a request by Albert Land, LP for about 21 acres at the end of Sage Lane. Both related public hearings were held on Feb. 3rd. Council is expected to take action on both of these items during this meeting.
Council will also discuss a resolution for fast rail freight and passenger service, a curbside recycling study presented to members at the close of the Feb. 3rd meeting, and recodification of the Town Code (ie, getting it updated and compliant with State Code). A report from Legislative Day, where council members meet with General Assembly members while in session in Richmond, is also expected. The manager will provide his progress report and the meeting is then scheduled to adjourn.
