Okay, so NRV citizens are all now quite aware of what snow is.  Beautiful and fun for the kids who may enjoy snow days now, but the memory will have melted away and replaced with regret when they are inside classrooms in mid-June.

snow:  precipitation falling from clouds in the form of ice crystals;
a layer of snowflakes (white crystals of frozen water) covering the ground.

Even government meetings have been rescheduled, from a MCPS budget session to today's Christiansburg Central Business District committee.  Trying to keep public roads open or safe have depleted government supplies and budgets.

It also means additional economic hardship as many businesses see fewer customers and hours of operations.  Many workers have seen lost wages as well.  Retailers and professional offices are impacted -- seeing fewer people looking at houses on the market, dining out or shopping, or deferring a dental or eye exam.  Toss in higher expenses relative to snow removal  for these big or small businesses (and aching backs).   Sprinkle on the anticipation of higher fuel bills (driving through this stuff is not only hazardous, it uses more gasoline).  While all this snow may be a good thing for utility companies, individuals and business are seeing budget breaking natural gas, heating oil or electric bills

This means the snow equates to less income, and higher expenses for everyone, following on the heels of an already soft economy. Depending on the thaw cycle (if and when it ever comes), there could be flooding, too.

Whew -- enough already!  With a hat tip to friend Jamie, here's some levity to lift snow weary spirits:

Okay Bad Weather....let's have a talk.  It isn't working out between us.
I need space.  I need to be able to go out with my friends and have fun.
I feel that I cannot do this with you around.  I don't feel like you are allowing me to reach my full potential as a human being.

We had some good times, but I just cannot continue to do this.
Just leave....shhh....don't say anything.  It would be best if you just left.
And it's not me; it's totally you.

Bad Weather -- I didn't want to tell you this, but I'm talking to someone else.  Her name is Spring and right now it is a long distance relationship.  I really like her though, and I'm hoping she will move in within the next couple of months.
I don't know -- I just feel....special....when Spring is around.
